About The Tellico Plains Inn

The Tellico Plains Inn is a historical landmark in Tellico Plains, Tennessee.  Originally established in 1916, it is in the heart of downtown Tellico Plains and at the start of the Cherohala Skyway. The Inn was rehabbed in 2023 with modern flare, but it stays true to the character of a 100+ year old inn.  Guests have enjoyed staying and even getting married in this inn for well over 100 years.  Whatever activities (sight-seeing, hiking, Bald River Falls, Indian Boundary, fly fishing, kayaking, shopping, and more) bring you to Tellico Plains and the Cherohala Skyway, you will surely enjoy your time at the beautiful, historic Tellico Plains Inn.

First time staying at the Inn and it was beautiful , clean and quiet. Great downtown location in this quaint beautiful town. The Tellico Grains bakery a few door away does not disappoint as well as the Peach St Grlll. I would highly recommend this lovely restored inn for your visit to Tellico Plains. We certainly will be back.

My husband, two fellow BMW motorcycle enthusiasts, and I recently enjoyed a delightful evening at The Tellico Plains Inn during our journey to ride the Cherohala Skyway, with our ultimate destination being in North Carolina. While we typically patronize another motorcycle-friendly hotel, this year they required a minimum two-night stay.Upon reaching out to The Tellico Plains Inn, I had the pleasure of speaking with the owner, John, who assured us of their motorcycle-friendly policy and waived any minimum stay requirements. Encouraged by this, we promptly booked our rooms and were thoroughly impressed by our experience. The inn, a charmingly refurbished establishment, exuded modern yet cozy ambiance. Its strategic location was ideal, sparing us the need for further rides once we had unpacked our gear. John kindly recommended nearby dining options for both dinner and breakfast, introducing us to the culinary delights of the area. And the comfort of the beds... dreamy!Of all the highlights of our stay, meeting Sherryl, another member of the inn's staff, stands out the most. She went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, attending to details like the safety of our motorcycles, providing ice and glassware for an impromptu happy hour in the inviting living room, complete with a delightful fireplace. Sherryl even graciously escorted me to the inn's lovely event space at the rear and introduced me to her feline companion, Nigel, who, while charming, was strictly an outdoor resident. The inn boasted tasteful decor both indoors and out, with rocking chairs thoughtfully placed on the front and side porches. Making reservations was a breeze, with John promptly sending confirmations via text and email, complete with all necessary information. His thoughtful follow-up text expressing gratitude for our stay further underscored the exceptional level of customer service we received. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend The Tellico Plains Inn to anyone seeking comfort, cleanliness, proximity to eateries, and outstanding value paired with exemplary customer service. It was truly a memorable experience that exceeded our expectations.

The Inn was absolutely stunning. I can only imagine how much blood, sweat, and tears had to go into restoring this beautiful piece of property. We were very fortunate to be able to enjoy the finished product. This gorgeous piece of property is located next to a town that looks like it could be a background for a Hallmark movie. A quaint bakery, coffee house and upscale restaurant are all within walking distance to the Inn. Plenty of parking. Tons of hiking and other activities nearby. Two museums are close by-one which displays an incredible collection of vintage firearms. The Inn was spotless and beautifully decorated. Do not hesitate to book!

The Inn was perfect for a quick overnight work stay. Immediately upon arriving I could tell how clean and well maintained it is. The room I was given and detached designated bathroom was spotless and had everything I needed and I appreciated the bottles of water and mini fridge. Self check-in and check-out was super convenient and really appreciated. The Inn is decorated very well with attention to historic detail and I took a moment to see all of the cool old photos from the mid 1900s taken there. It really felt like I was staying at a friend or relative's place! There is a really good bakery just walking distance as well as a good coffeehouse across the street. I was able to grab a pastry and coffee and be on my way in just a few minutes. Highly recommend staying!

The place is a charming building built in 1919 yet it has all the modern conveniences. It was extremely clean and not overdone. We decided to stay there because it is close to the Cherohala Skyway and the Tail of the Dragon. We did both. Great few days. Thanks Mr Pollard! We hope to return.
Great place to stay. Beautiful rooms and John was amazing! We'll definitely be there again.

The event space was absolutely beautiful with an old country charm feel. It has the potential to be dressed up quite elegantly or casually, whichever is your preference. The entire house has been completely remodeled but keeps the charm of the old boarding house it was used for in the past. If those wood floors could talk!

This is the place to stay if you’re anywhere close to Tellico. I came up for a fishing trip in the National Forest and the owner (John) was very helpful and his excellent communication made check in super easy. The downtown location is prime and right next to the bakery. You can also walk to the other shops in town. The room was perfect with a comfortable bed and a large tv and the bathroom looks like it was renovated yesterday. The water pressure was even great! I can’t wait to come back in the Spring and spend some time on the wraparound porch with rocking chairs. There is no reason to look anywhere else if you need a place to stay!!

Amazing place to stay in Tellico! This historic inn has been revitalized with modern touches- especially where you want it to. The bathrooms were very nice and updated. The room (stayed in one with to twin beds) was a great space with a closet, TV, climate control, and enough room for luggage. The owner has kept the historic charm of the inn nicely throughout. My stay was close to Christmas so it was decorated with a holiday homey feel! If you’re coming to Tellico, this is one of the best places to stay. All the room have their own access codes so you don’t have to worry about people wandering about. It’s very centrally located to all the downtown places. I’d give 10 stars if I could.

Centrally located and newly renovated. This place met all of our needs and really nice bathroom and great accommodations. Was really a pleasure sitting out on the porch after a long day of riding our motorcycles. It was exceptionally clean and orderly, and the host was always available to answer questions and provide recommendations to local Establishments. I would definitely consider staying here again and would definitely recommend this location. Every room was impeccable, and very very well kept.

I recently went Tellico Plains for a quick day trip. While visiting the bakery downtown, I happened to notice the Tellico Plains Inn (a few doors down) was being completely renovated, so I stopped in to check it out. It was awesome! The new owners have completely gutted it, and rebuilt it with several private “motel” rooms, and an event center- but managed to keep the feel of the old inn intact including the wrap around porch with the neatest antique doorbell I ever saw. This will be a great place to have a destination wedding or just a weekend to visit for rafting or touring the area around the Tail of the Dragon. I’m definitely planning to return and book a weekend soon!
